How It All Began
There I was, racket in hand, ready to serve up another ace on my beloved tennis court, when I noticed them. The pickleball players. At first, they were just a small group, laughing excessively loud and swinging what looked like oversized ping pong paddles. It seemed like a game designed for those who found badminton too strenuous. Nerdy, non-athletic—definitely not my crowd.
As time rolled by, these interlopers didn’t just multiply; they seemed to be having the time of their lives. More courts transformed from my perfect tennis battlegrounds to these… miniaturized arenas of enthusiastic chaos. My disdain grew with their numbers.
